Chikumanishiki Sake Brewery is located at the foot of Mount Asama in Shinshu, in the Chikuma River valley, at the intersection of the Nakasendo and Saku-Koshu Highways in Saku City, which developed as a post town in ancient times.
The brewery was founded in 1681 and has flourished as a sake brewery in Iwamurada-juku, a post town, for 340 years. This locally loved sake is brewed with natural subterranean water from Mount Asama, one of the best waters in Shinshu.
