This brewery is located in the former Wajima village, the place of the demise of Yoshikan Waso. The brewery's current flagship brand, Waraku Moto-zon, was originally called Moto-zon, but was renamed Waraku Moto-zon by Masatsu Yasuoka, a literary figure active in the centre of Japan, based on the idea that 'Moto-zon leads to Waraku'. The name expresses the wish to lead the world to peace through sake brewing.
The Ikeura Brewery brews 'dry sake with flavour' in a lovely old-fashioned white-walled storehouse.
Its flagship brand, 'Waraku Mutual Honour Kinjirushi', is slightly dry and has a delicious flavour. It is popular as a local evening drink. Recommended serving temperatures: room temperature to hot.
