First brewed in 1913. The brewery is located in Uchino-cho, which overlooks the multi-level intersection of the Nishi-gawa River, a tributary of the Shinano River, and the Shinkawa River, which was manually excavated during the Edo period, and is an area where the rich granary of Niigata can be felt in the history of its construction.
The brewing water is groundwater filtered by sand in the dune area, and the brewery makes the most of Niigata's climate.
In recent years, the brewery has been actively involved in the development of new sake products and overseas local production guidance in order to make local sake more familiar to people all over the world.
Koshinoseki is a regular sake brewed in a four-stage process to produce a light, flavourful sake. It has a well-balanced flavour and aroma, and is a classic evening drink that can be enjoyed at a wide range of temperatures, from chilled to hot.
