Established more than 400 years ago. The brewery is located at the foot of Mount Ikoma in Nara, Japan's ancient capital, and is a long-established sake brewery that has been in continuous operation for 19 generations since Sohei Ueda I. The brewery is located at the foot of Mount Ikoma in Nara, Japan's ancient capital.
With Mount Ikoma in the background, the brewery continues to produce sake under the motto 'cherish the old ways and seek out the new' in a favourable climate and environment.
This Bodaimoto Junmai sake is brewed at Shorekiji Temple, the birthplace of Nara's sake, by reproducing the 600-year-old Bodaimoto method of sake brewing.
It is a mellow sake with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. When you put it in your mouth, the mellow sweet taste spreads, followed by a sour taste that passes down your throat.
