Kitagawa Honke was founded in Fushimi, Kyoto, in 1657 during the Edo period.
The company has been working together with Kyoto's food culture in the rich water environment of Fushimi, Kyoto, for over 360 years, using traditional techniques and ingredients handed down from generation to generation.
The company has further refined its traditional techniques and has won a total of 21 gold medals at the National New Sake Competition. (As of June 2023).
