Ofuku Brewery was founded in September 1897 by founder Goro Kishi as Kishi Goro Shoten. Known as the father of sake brewing, Kishi Goro published Japan's first textbook on sake brewing, 'Koukai Jikatama', and was the first person in the brewing industry to be awarded the Medal with Yellow Ribbon.
The brewery was reorganised as the Ofuku Brewery in 1949, but it is a brewery with a long history of continuing to make good sake by carrying on the techniques handed down from one generation to the next by the original founder.
Of the Ofuku Brewery's representative brand, Ofuku Masamune Josen Honjozo is the most familiar to locals. Elegant flavour and a soft throat sensation. A mellow, blissful sake that you will never get tired of drinking.
