The Hozan Brewery was established in 1885. Although it is a small brewery in the area known as Saigamaku, it is characterised by its extremely clean and delicate taste.
The brewery is also taking on the challenge of creating new flavours, apart from the traditional 'dry, light' style of Niigata sake.
Hozan Junmai-shu is made from Niigata's Gohyakumangoku and Koshibuki, and is a junmai-shu made without any additives, slowly extracting the flavour of the rice.
This junmai-shu is known as Japan's slow food, and is part of the traditional sake culture itself. Enjoy the nostalgic taste of the past.
The brewery recommends it cold to hot.
