Hara Sake Brewery is a 200-year-old sake brewery that has been in business since the Edo period. While carefully inheriting the traditional techniques of a long-established business, the brewery continues to take on the challenge of introducing the appeal of new types of sake.
Hara Sake Brewery is committed to brewing sake using only the finest Niigata rice. The rice grown by farmers is carefully polished over a long period of time by skilled brewers in the company's own rice-polishing machine, and brewed with underground water from the melted snow of Mt Yoneyama, a sacred mountain in the local Kashiwazaki area. As the name suggests, Irodori is a pure rice sake with a clean, crisp flavour typical of Echigo sake. It has a mild aroma and a strong flavour, but is light enough to drink easily. It goes well with a wide range of dishes, from refreshing seafood to strong-flavoured meat dishes.
