The brewery is located in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and produces sake in an area blessed with subsoil water from the Hakusan Mountains and suitable rice for sake brewing. The brewery was founded at the end of the Edo period (Keio 1) and has long been characterised by sake with a pure rice flavour and little impurities. Kaga no Tsuki Manzuki was used as the drink of choice for the 2012 and 2013 Nobel Nightcap (the after-party of the official Nobel Prize dinner).
