Founded in 1839, Hakuryu Sake Brewery was established as a sake brewery in the port town of Niigata, which was busy with Kitamaeisen ships at the time, as a branch of a shipping wholesaler trading with Hokkaido. Contract-cultivated rice Junmai Ginjo Hakuryu is a junmai ginjo sake brewed exclusively with rice grown under contract with local farmers in Agano City. Smooth and smooth, with a slight umami flavour, it can be enjoyed in a wide range of temperatures, either chilled and served cold or lightly warmed and served lukewarm.
